Anglesey Walking Holidays
Anglesey Walking Holidays was set up by Eurwyn and Gillian back in 2006, which coincided with the official opening of the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path.
What Anglesey Walking Holidays offers
Having walked the whole Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path many times, Eurwyn and Gillian decided to set up a company which could offer walkers, of all ages and ability, a chance to experience and enjoy Anglesey. Walking is definitley the best way to explore the area.
Eurwyn was born and bred on Anglesey. His knowledge of the history and traditions of the area is an added bonus. Eurwyn and Gillian have been living in South Anglesey for over 25 years, and count themselves lucky to be able to live and work on the island. They are fluent in English and Welsh.
Both come from a television background – Eurwyn a director and Gillian a script supervisor. There is no better therapy for Eurwyn, when he returns after a busy spell in the Television Studios in Cardiff, than to come home to Anglesey to walk the Coastal Path.
It’s an exhilarating and calming experience that they want to share with their customers.
Anglesey Walking Holidays
Anglesey Walking Holidays has had regular features on the BBC (Radio and television) as well as local newspapers and magazines. The company is going from strength to strength and over the years they have welcomed visitors from all over the world.
Anglesey Walking Holidays offer combined packages on Anglesey and Snowdonia, as well as Anglesey and Wicklow, Ireland. American and Canadian visitors quite often fly into Dublin to savour the Irish delights before crossing the Irish Sea to meet Eurwyn and Gillian at Holyhead Port. Anglesey Walking Holidays are agents for both ferry companies, Stena and Irish Ferries, so tickets can be booked directly through them.
In 2014 Eurwyn and Gillian set up a sister company Wales Walking Holidays. Up to date they now offer walking holidays in many other areas of Wales, including Offa’s Dyke National Trail, Glyndwr’s Way, Wales Coast Path (including North Wales, Anglesey, Llŷn , Meirionnydd, Ceredigion and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path), the North Wales Path, as well as Snowdonia.
Cycling holidays on Anglesey
If you are not too keen on walking, and would prefer to cycle, Cycling packages can be booked through them. Tours run on Anglesey as well as the North Wales Coast from Bangor to Chester.
Anglesey Tourism Awards
Anglesey Walking Holidays have won a few awards over the years. In 2008 the company was awarded the Best Outdoor Activity Provider in the Anglesey Tourism Awards, as well as The Best Adventure and Activity Operator in 2009.
“The Best Adventure/Activity Operator of the Year 2009 was won by Crwydro Môn Anglesey Walking Holidays. The judges were impressed that Anglesey Walking Holidays’ packages are tailored to meet the requirements of its customers and are highly personalised and bilingual”.
Anglesey Walking Holidays/Crwydro Môn won the GOLD AWARD for the Best Activity Provider in the Anglesey Tourism Awards 2012 held at the Mona Showground Pavilion in January 2012.
In 2011, Anglesey Walking Holidays received their first Trip Advisor 5* Certificate of Excellence, and have been able to keep this rating ever since. The 2016 Certificate of Excellence is displayed on our website.
